Have you ever heard your child scream the kind of blood curdling scream that makes your heart miss a beat? The kind of scream where you just know something is very wrong? I heard that scream on a summer’s day about 4 years ago.
My husband and my brother- in- law were building a potato gun with my son out in the garage. They were testing the ignition to see that it was working. My son was looking down the barrel of the gun to see if the ignition was sparking and BANG! It more than sparked, it exploded in his face. The glue that was used to build the potato gun was not completely dry and the fumes had ignited causing a flash burn to his face!
My first action was to get my son immediately into the bath where I could disconnect the shower head and run cool water over his face. As you can imagine he was in shock and a lot of pain. This is where homeopathy comes in.
I asked my husband to get the ARNICA as that was the first thing that came to my mind and I knew it would help with the shock and trauma. After giving the Arnica I came to the conclusion that this injury was serious and I could not deal with it on my own so we called an ambulance.
While we waited for the ambulance I thought of another remedy to give and that was ACONITE. My son had had such a huge fright and he was also fearful that he might not be able to see and that he might die. For fear and fright give Aconite . The ACONITE calmed him enough until the ambulance arrived. To this day he has not had any nightmares or ongoing trauma from the accident and I believe it was because I gave the ACONITE at the time of the accident.
My son had suffered the equivalent of bad sunburn and lost his eyebrows and eyelashes. The doctor said it would all heal with no scarring and we are forever grateful that it did.
I write this to show that homeopathy can be used in an emergency while waiting for help to arrive. Please always follow first aid protocols and get medical attention for serious injuries.
